A Weekend of Live Wedding Music: Four Weddings, Four Very Different AfterParties
There’s something we love about a busy wedding weekend: four celebrations, four completely different settings, and one thing they all had in common — a dance floor that knew exactly what to do.
From an all-day wedding at The Barn at South Milton to an evening party at Waters Edge Ewen, acoustic live music at Homewood in Bath and a full wedding day at Ivy Lodge finished with DJ SAX, our teams were out across the South West bringing live music to every part of the day.
The Barn at South Milton, From Ceremony to Last Song
Saturday started with a full-day wedding at The Barn at South Milton, where our team provided entertainment from the ceremony right through to the final song of the night.
For this wedding, the couple chose our Saxophone Upgrade, adding live saxophone alongside the band to bring even more energy to the evening party.
There’s something particularly special about providing music for an entire wedding day. It means we get to be there for all the moments — the atmosphere building as guests arrive, the ceremony itself, the drinks reception and, eventually, the point where everyone has had enough champagne to properly commit to the dance floor.
By the evening, it was time for the full band to take over, with live saxophone woven into the performance and the party building all the way through to the last song.

Waters Edge Ewen - Evening Band & Saxophone
While our first team was taking care of a full wedding day, a second AfterParty band was out at Waters Edge Ewen for an evening-only celebration.
The couple chose our live wedding band with the Saxophone Upgrade, creating the kind of high-energy evening entertainment that gets guests out of their seats from the very first set.
Adding live saxophone to a wedding band is one of our favourite ways to elevate an evening party. It brings an extra layer of energy to the performance and works particularly well when the dance floor is already full and the party is really getting going.
Because ultimately, that’s what we’re there for: the bit of the wedding where everyone stops checking the time, the shoes come off and the dance floor becomes the place to be.
Homewood, Bath - Acoustic by Day, Full Band by Night
Our third team was also out on Saturday, providing full-day wedding entertainment at Homewood in Bath.
This wedding was a brilliant example of how we can completely change the feel of the music throughout the day.
For the daytime, the couple chose our acoustic wedding music, creating a relaxed and beautiful soundtrack for the earlier part of the celebration.
Then, as the evening arrived, the acoustic sound gave way to the full AfterParty wedding band.
We love this combination because it allows the music to evolve naturally with the wedding. Soft and understated during the day, then bigger, louder and more energetic once the evening party begins.
It’s also a great option for couples looking for live wedding music from ceremony through to evening reception, without everything feeling like the same performance repeated throughout the day.
Ivy Lodge - Marcello Acoustic to DJ SAX
And finally, we finished the weekend on Sunday at Ivy Lodge, where our team provided entertainment across the daytime and evening.
Marcello performed an acoustic set for the ceremony, drinks reception and cocktail hour, giving the earlier part of the day a relaxed live-music feel while guests enjoyed drinks and celebrated together.
Then came the transformation.
As the evening party began, the acoustic set made way for DJ SAX — combining a DJ with live saxophone for a completely different kind of party atmosphere.
DJ SAX is one of our favourite ways to take a wedding from dinner into full party mode. The DJ keeps the music moving while live saxophone brings the energy of a live performance directly onto the dance floor.
From acoustic wedding music in the afternoon to DJ SAX at night, this wedding had a soundtrack that evolved with every stage of the day.
Four Weddings. One Very Busy Weekend.
From The Barn at South Milton and Waters Edge Ewen to Homewood in Bath and Ivy Lodge, it was another huge weekend for The AfterParty.
We provided everything from acoustic ceremony music and drinks reception entertainment to full live wedding bands, saxophone upgrades and DJ SAX — proving that there really isn't one formula for the perfect wedding soundtrack.
Every couple, venue and guest list is different.
Our job is to create the right atmosphere for each one — and then, when the evening arrives, make sure the dance floor is exactly where everyone wants to be.
